What To Expect - Overnight Care
Sample Schedule
10:00 PM - Arrival and Setup
-
I arrive at your home, discuss the night’s routine, and review any specific instructions or adjustments needed.

10:30 PM - Settling the Baby
-
I change the baby’s diaper before bringing them to you to breastfeed, OR I can give a bottle.
-
After feeding, I ensure the baby is comfortably settled in their sleeping area. I also perform chores such as washing and preparing bottles or pumps, transferring laundry, and folding baby clothes.

1:30 AM - Second Feeding and Soothing
-
I assist with the second scheduled feeding, following the same procedure of bringing the baby to you or feeding them a bottle.
-
After feeding, I check the diaper and ensure the baby is comfortably settled. Light household chores will be completed as time allows.

4:30 AM - Final Feeding and Diaper Check
-
I handle the final scheduled feeding, check the diaper, and make sure the baby is settled for the last stretch of sleep.
-
I complete any remaining household chores if needed and time allows.

6:00 AM - End of Shift and Handover
-
I will summarize the night’s activities via email, and hand over all responsibilities of the baby to an adult.
One or two nights a week, I'll handle nighttime care so you can rest and be fully present during the day. My support helps you recharge, making you a happier, healthier parent. Even occasional overnight care can make a big difference for you and your baby.
1
Feeding Support
I assist with breastfeeding by bringing the baby to you and managing pump cleaning. If the baby is bottle-fed, I handle the feedings during the night. I am also trained in lactation and will assist or gently guide if help is needed.
2
Diaper Changes
I change the baby’s diaper before feeding and check it again afterward to ensure the baby is comfortably settled for their next sleep period.
3
Soothing Techniques
I use gentle methods to soothe the baby back to sleep, including light touch and calming words and sounds. I will also address any anxieties that mom has and help her get back to sleep as well.
4
Light Household Chores
I take care of tasks such as washing and preparing bottles or pumps, transferring laundry, and folding baby clothes to keep your home organized. However, caring for both the baby and mom is my highest priority. If the baby or mom is unsettled, household chores may not be completed.
5
Rest Period
If the baby and mom are settled and housework has been accomplished, I may take short rest periods or lightly sleep during the night. I will set an alarm for each feeding to ensure timely care.
